Written Response Questions

Capstone Analytic uses the following written-response questions to better understand each applicant’s analytical experience, communication style, domain knowledge, and fit for the role supporting portfolio strategy, federal health IT, acquisition, and decision-making.

Please answer each question thoughtfully and provide specific examples from your professional experience where possible. Strong responses should demonstrate how you approach complex problems, work with incomplete information, support senior leaders, communicate findings, and develop defensible recommendations.

Responses do not need to be overly long, but they should be substantive. As a general guide, 250–500 words per question is appropriate unless a shorter answer fully addresses the prompt.

Please do not include classified, procurement-sensitive, proprietary, or otherwise confidential information in your responses. Your answers should reflect your own experience, judgment, and communication style.

It is recommended that you draft your responses to these questions outside of this application and paste them into the appropriate box when you are preparred to submit your application as this form will not save your responses.

Ambiguous Problem Solving

What makes a briefing or decision package effective when the audience is senior, time-constrained, and may not be deeply familiar with the underlying analysis?

Software Modernization Domain Experience

Describe your experience in healthcare, health IT, digital transformation, or enterprise IT modernization. Include any support for enterprise IT modernization in a non-healthcare industry.

What aspects of the health IT or enterprise IT modernization do you believe make analysis, strategy, acquisition, or portfolio management uniquely challenging?

Portfolio Strategy & Tradeoff Analysis

Imagine a portfolio has more proposed initiatives than available funding. The portfolio includes multiple capabilities that are enabled by dozens of products and services.

How would you help leadership prioritize investments across the portfolio?

This role requires someone who is intellectually curious about health IT modernization, federal healthcare operations, portfolio strategy, acquisition tradeoffs, and management of large and complex portfolios.
